All medical and dental colleges ordered to make student registration mandatory


 Lahore (Zero News 804) The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has ordered medical and dental colleges across the country to ensure mandatory registration of every admitted student. It has also decided to impose heavy fines and other strict actions for violation of rules. According to the report, all government and private colleges have been directed to ensure timely registration of every admitted student. A fine of Rs 50,000 will be imposed on each student for failure to register within the stipulated period.

According to PMDC, in case of admissions in excess of the allotted seats, 100 percent of the fee of each student will be charged from the institution, while full fee will be charged for irregular admissions. The seats of institutions violating the rules can also be reduced next year.

The letter further states that a fine of Rs 75,000 per student will be imposed for late submission of graduation report, while a fine of Rs 30,000 per student has been fixed for late reporting of annual examination results. According to PMDC, a fine of Rs 500,000 will be imposed for late issuance of merit and admission list and an additional fine of Rs 50,000 per day. Institutions violating the law three times will be included in the council's grey list.
